Innova Global is deploying fiber directly to the desktop to improve network efficiencies while enhancing network capacity and reducing costs

Innova Global Technology Inc. ( Innova ) an Orange County California -based advanced information and communications technology, cloud solution provider and technology deployment company says it deploying Motorola Passive Optical Local Area Network (POL) technology to bring fiber to the desktops for corporate headquarters, campuses, schools and universities (Location with 250 plus workstations) . The passive optical LAN technology enables high-speed voice, data, and video applications while reducing energy consumption resulting in lower CapEx and OpEx. Lower cost is accomplished by using passive optical components, instead of active switching elements, which reduces the operational expenditure of the solution, Innova says.

Using Passive Optical Lan, The new network could support the sharing of large files and imaging as well as streaming video and other files to support faster real-time collaboration.

This adequately can meet enterprise goals for the versatile and flexible network which include a reduction in power consumption to its workstation area while supporting laptops, printers, wireless access points and access control as well as applications such as voice over IP, video conferencing, environmental control , security and monitoring cameras systems .

Passive optical LAN technology leverages a Passive Optical LAN ( PON ) architecture similar to fiber to the home
(FTTH) applications. A single AXS1800 Optical Line Terminal (OLT) can serve multiple buildings on a campus and multiple floors within a single building via passive splitters. Replacing active switches in IDF closets with passive splitters reduces power consumption due to elimination of layer two (2) switches, UPS, air-conditioning , lights
,decrease space requirements in riser closets, data rooms, and conduits; and control capital costs related to network elements ,while the use of fiber instead of copper increases bandwidth capacity. (For more on passive optical LANs, watch the video “Innova Global Technology POL deployment” on YouTube.

POL provides is a proven technology which is green benefits, and it's secure, scalable, and can meet the needs
of our future growth," said Innova , "Rather than opt for copper or other multimode cables, corporate enterprises and
educational campuses can take the step of deploying fiber directly to the desktop to improve network efficiencies while enhancing network capacity and reducing costs."

The business impact of passive optical LAN technology is to lower the total cost of ownership (TCO ) in a business LAN environment more than 250 stations— by means of passive optical technology developed for, and proven in, client service point networks.
